So, I think I have resolved the issue of continuously receiving the message:

Uninitialized http://twistedcaldav.mail.IMAP4DownloadFactory#error IMAP factory connection failed.

I’m not entirely sure why, but when I disable “Enable email invitations” under iCal in Server Admin the messages stop.   I’m guessing it could be some for of authentication issue between iCal and Mail.
