Strange iCal Messages…

I’ve continued to play with the various servers included in SL server and for the most part, I’ve been fortunate in getting them to work. Out of habit, I look over logs to find anything out of the ordinary even when everything is functioning as it should. While looking through the iCal Server logs the other day I noticed something strange:
Uninitialized http://twistedcaldav.mail.IMAP4DownloadFactory#error IMAP factory connection failed
The above logs repeat once every 30 seconds or so and come right back even after a restart. I’ve googled this message and have been unable to find a reason for it. You’d think that iCal Server can communicate with Mail Server for some reason, but for all I can tell everything seems to be running normally. Weird.

I am getting the same messages on a virgin SL server, pre-installed on a mini-server. Google turned up your post…
I only have one person experimenting with the shared calendar (me) and don’t even have the mail server or push turned on. In the interest of full disclosure, I am a complete OSX server newb, but like it much more than jacking around with NT4 and Windows 2000 server boxes that I did about 9 years ago in a past life.
Hi William,
Thanks for the post. I recently updated to 10.6.2 in hopes that maybe that would resolve the issue. I enjoy SL server much more than 2000/2003 servers, but then again I’ve been using unix variants for my serving needs for a while now. At one point, I was able to get those messages to stop but unfortunately I don’t remember exactly what I did. What I can tell you, is that it had something to do with the Mail server. There has to be a Mail setting I changed which caused them to return. At any rate, if you happen to find a resolution please let me know!
Regards,
